Comrades
We are sending the 56th antiwar assembly held in Japan a warm and enthusiastic revolutionary greeting.
We are writing to you at a time when US imperialism has launched a brutal trade war in a dispute over the markets. It is deepening by the hour because the imperialisms have been given a free hand to dispute the world after crushing the two international key revolutionary focuses by blood and fire –i.e. Ukraine and the Middle East. It has been able to do so by the siege of silence and disinformation imposed by the treacherous leaderships of the masses on the Syrian revolution, while the Stalinist fifth columns, together with the Donbas oligarchy, controlled the rebellious miners of the Donbas region by blood and fire, which allowed the advance of Kiev’s fascism.
The conferences of Minsk and Geneva were the center of the theater of operations of coordination of the forces of the world counterrevolution of the USA, imperialist Maastricht and Russia.
Before the world crash, the parasitic 1% are staying with 50% of the planet's wealth. The capitalists and their regimes around the world have launched an open war against the working class. It has started, on all five continents, a brutal attack of labor flexibilization, mass layoffs. Salaried slavery deepens. Proof of all this is the existence of 200 million migrant workers around the world. They are a sub-class that does not even have a room anymore within the industrial reserve army. The world market has shrunk.
Yesterday, in 2008, when the world-wide crash broke out, the US, in the hand of Obama, threw its crisis on the planet through a policy of pacts and agreements, as was attempted in the Atlantic with Maastricht’s EU and in the Pacific with Japan and more than 14 countries in that region.
Taking advantage of the Wall Street crisis, both the imperialist powers of Maastricht and Japan advanced on US spheres of influence across the globe. That is why today comes Trump with an offensive policy, kicks the apple-chart upside-down, breaks the pacts and agreements sealed with the rest of the imperialist powers that are not useful for him and launches this trade war to maintain US’s supremacy in the world market. The vultures begin to peck each other to keep the prey, which is already becoming scarce for all.
This is what has pushed England to Brexit, to try to go alone to its colonial domains and rows over markets.
The US defends its domination, it now feels as threatened. And so, it enters the world again as the eruption of a volcano, seeking to impose customs tariff openings across the globe, while closing its own borders, for the benefit of its transnationals, its financial capital and its own domestic market. "America First!" Trump has said even to its partners such as Japan and England.
So the US imperialist pirates, with the rise of tariffs on steel and aluminum, have launched an aggressive policy against imperialist Maastricht, since Germany has again been strengthened by conquering its vital space in Europe. His business with Putin's Russia and Eastern Europe allows it to receive gas, oil at low cost and, allied to France and other European powers, is using Eastern Europe for their maquilas, as the USA does in Mexico and Latin America. From there the former advance to dispute the spheres of US influence in the semicolonial world and in the same North American market. Thus, the "great Germany", one of the most important exporters in the world in machine tools and high technology, has been strengthened in the world economy.
The imperialist pirates make agreements and undo them at every step. They are real bandits armed to the teeth fighting each other for the business of looting the world and the exploitation of workers and oppressed peoples.
With the economic crisis that hit the roof in 2008, the world market got shrunk. Any imperialism can only do well if the others do badly. Businesses do not reach all the imperialist powers anymore. This pushes more and more not only the trade war but, as we will see, future global conflagrations.
Russia and China seek to enter the big businesses associated with the different imperialist powers. But these will not yield or give ground and go for the former, those big markets, with a political offensive of the same caliber of looting, submission, indebtedness and counterrevolutionary pacts that they are already effectuating in the rest of the BRICS (Brazil, India, South Africa, etc.) and all over the semicolonial world.
Trump disputes the Franco-German axis with its eastern European backyard and its trade agreements with Putin.
Trump is fighting with an eye put on the profitable Chinese state companies, such as steel, energy, mining, etc. Germany with England signed the treaty of the "new Silk Road" from China to London.
The different imperialist gangs seek to surrender China in order to control the production of steel worldwide. They also want to keep the majority shareholding of all Chinese banks. Ultimately it is the dispute to stay with the new market of 400 million Chinese consumers, while 1200 million inhabitants live in the worst of hardship and slavery. The fight is over Russia and China.
Japanese imperialism, while the United States is disputing all the businesses of the world, has just signed a free trade pact with India, which submits it totally to the interests of Tokyo.
Trump's offensive on North Korea to "tame" Kim Jong-Un is part of the US advance for the control of the Pacific Rim. The control of the Korean Peninsula is key in the future to surround China and also as a new source of huge business. Like yesterday in the case of Iraq, imperialism uses the excuse of WMD (i.e., "chemical weapons" or "nuclear weapons") to prepare mass invasions.
In the Pacific, the US, with its military partner Japan, has military bases with the latest military technology and one of the largest fleets in the world, along with that of the North Atlantic. The US has 80% of the military expenditure of the entire planet. They have 19 navy fleets with 19 aircraft carriers, when China is only building the first one.
US imperialism has 500 military bases around the planet, along with their allies in England and Japan. He has left Putin to keep the bases in Crimea and Syria to act as a hit man in Eurasia. That's what the meetings between Trump and Putin are about.
Comrades,
Today's trade war is expressed with serious political clashes at the international level between the different imperialist governments that defend the interests of their monopolies, and negotiations with the national bourgeoisies. Even NATO is in question. We are facing historical changes, where these political clashes in the trade war with which the world market is disputed, tomorrow there will be military confrontations and wars of a regional, continental and global nature (which will surely begin with disputes through proxies to dispute areas of the planet) if the working class does not stop them with the socialist revolution.
Comrades,
In the trade war, the imperialist pirates are supported by social-chauvinist currents, which tie the fate of the workers to that of their own imperialist bourgeoisies and their counterrevolutionary adventures on the planet.
The French NPA supporting Melenchon to save the Fifth French imperialist Republic before the crisis of the Socialist Party, the English SWP supporting Corbyn and Labour Party, the party of the British transnational companies, to recreate among the English workers a wave that defends the businesses of the British crown in the world. Not to mention the Podemos voting for PSOE government in the Spanish State to save the Borbon monarchy. The Stalinist parties were preserved by the West to control the trade union federations to subjugate the workers to the imperialist governments and regimes and the native bourgeoisies in the semi-colonial world.
In this same sense, in Japan, as you well denounce, the trade union bureaucracy and Stalinism are misleading the workers so they don’t confront Abe’s attempt of constitutional reform so that Japanese imperialism can wage wars abroad. The Japanese Communist Party covers its flank with statements that accept a "war for the defense of the fatherland". That is what Stalinism and the renegades of Trotskyism do all over the world, as social-chauvinists in the imperialist powers and servants of the native bourgeoisies in the semi-colonial world.
Comrades,
From Latin America, tormented by imperialism, we denounce the last stab in the back that Stalinism has dealt to the working class of the entire American continent.
First, with the Obama-Castro embrace, they subjected the American working class to the imperialist gangs of the Democratic Party. With the boli-bourgeoisies, they expropriated the anti-imperialist struggle of the masses and subjected Latin America to imperialism. They disarmed the Colombian resistance. They took a leap forward to hand over Cuba to imperialism, while in Venezuela, Nicaragua and Bolivia they kill with starvation and shooting people.
In Cuba, we are seeing one of the greatest tragedies of the Latin American working class. The last Cuban national assembly has decreed that THE PRIVATE PROPERTY HAS RETURNED TO CUBA. This was written in the constitution. Stalinism has put into practice the program of the worms of Miami. Private property is already a law in Castro's Cuba, as the right of inheritance is.
This situation is very serious. Trump and the US imperialism have stepped on their backyard to go to new adventures in the world. They reinforce their regimes, as in Argentina or Brazil, taking the armed forces to the streets. Thus, from the Southern Cone, with its new military bases, seek to control the routes of the Atlantic. There is already a huge NATO base in the Falkland Islands.
There are huge attacks against the working class throughout the continent that are sharpening. The masses wage battles. Against the fraud of the Bolivarian revolution, there’s struggle in Nicaragua, in the revolted city of Masaya, as it also faces the UN troops and their Latin American Gurkhas in Haiti.
The working class in Argentina, on December 18th and 19th, 2017, has revolted and dealt a hard defeat to Macri's murderous police, while the reformist left and the union leaders try to drown that enormous mass struggle so that never again they fight as in 2001, with combats in the streets, strikes, pickets and the general strike, toppling presidents as De la Rua.
Comrades,
Against the war declared by those at the top, the working class also wages battles all over the world. Key battalions of the working class are already fighting in the streets of Paris and China. The Greek working class returns to the general strike against the social-imperialist government of Syriza. Russian workers take to the streets against Putin in defense of their pension funds. The metalworkers and miners fight again in Ukraine. In South Africa, they carried out a great general strike that led to the fall of President Zuma. In Peru, fighting continues in all sectors of the exploited.
The union bureaucracies, Stalinism and the renegades of Trotskyism all over the world, refuse to coordinate the international struggle of the workers. To stop this attack and this war of the capitalists and the imperialist powers, the international working class must take to the streets and unify their battles.
The world is full of struggles against labour flexibilization and dismissals, against imperialist looting and the cynical murderous dictatorships that, like those of the Middle East, are under the control of the imperialist oil companies massacring all the peoples of the region.
Social-chauvinism subjects the working class to its respective bourgeoisies country by country. Here and there, international congresses are held, such as the US Labour Notes, the so-called "Union Network" of Conlutas of Brazil and Solidaires of France that group tens of trade union federations around the world, or the congresses of the Stalinist trade union confederations they held every year. All of them have refused to promote effective and concrete coordination in world struggles against the war that the capitalists have declared to the workers. They have refused and continue to refuse to coordinate a unified action to stop the massacres imposed by imperialism, as in Syria with Putin, Turkey and the dog Al Assad, or with the Saudi clan over the Yemeni nation, or as the US in Afghanistan.
Comrades, in these counterrevolutionary wars imperialism develops and tests its most advanced military technology. They have already developed bombs guided by "artificial intelligence", capable of distinguishing their targets and with 100% accuracy, with their own mobility, which does not stop or detonate until they reach the target. They are lethal weapons in the hands of imperialism that will make a new slaughter of the proletariat. It is only this way that this rotten capitalist system survives, developing parasitism and destructive forces.
Comrades, the Syrian revolution began 7 years ago. We were with you fighting for international solidarity with the Syrian masses. By 2011-2012 the masses set up the workers' and soldiers' coordination committees, and left Al Assad’s regime on the edge of the abyss.
After 7 years we can say that imperialism was concentrated in Syria, with a genocide that has left more than 700,000 dead and 15 million refugees, to contain the chain of revolutions in the Maghreb and the Middle East and to chastise the world working class, showing to it what will happen if it "dares" to rise for bread and freedom.
The Trotskyists of the FLTI, which today collaborate with publishing the newspaper The Truth of the Oppressed from the very Syrian resistance, have spilled our blood in that heroic revolution of workers and peasants against the fascist Al Assad. We have met the same fate as the most brave and heroic fighters of that revolution. It is an honor to salute you in this 56th antiwar assembly from the Leon Sedov Brigade, from the last trenches of the Syrian revolution.
The Syrian revolution has been besieged, isolated, a thousand times slandered. Imperialism, in retreat from Iraq, could not attack directly in the Middle East. That is why he used Al Assad as a fascist force of occupation to massacre the people in arms.
Many did not believe us, but it has already become clear that with the pact of Turkey and Russia, Syria was partitioned. Turkey leads the FSA generals who sold out the rebel cities from the inside, while Putin and Al Assad massacred them with barrel bombs and missiles, devastating entire cities. The US invaded Raqa and Deir ez Zor. They took over the oil wells.
ISIS? After fulfilling its function of also drowning in blood the areas that were liberated by the masses, it has turned into an appendix of the advance of Al Assad massacring the last trenches of the revolution, as in Daraa and Yarmouk.
The veils are falling. Zionism, embracing Putin and Turkey, massacring the Palestinian people in Gaza, is preparing to enter order in the region. This is how the sinister pact of Geneva works, from where Syria is partitioned and they conspire to massacre the revolution in that country and the entire Middle East.
This same thing was done by Putin with the US in the Minsk Pact, to split Ukraine and strangle the revolution that broke out there in 2014. Putin kept Crimea. Along with Stalinism they divided the Ukrainian working class, while imperialism imposed a fascist regime in Kyiv. The pro-Russian oligarchy of Donbass, with the backup of the Stalinist fifth column and the bombs of Kiev, tied up the hands of the rebel miners of the Ukrainian east and recreated the false illusion of a "New Russia", which was surrounded and isolated by the NATO troops, the Russian base of Crimea and the fascist troops of Kyiv.
Counterrevolutionary pacts, massacres, betrayals on the back, sellouts from within the revolutionary masses... These are bitter defeats from which the revolutionaries of the world must draw a great lesson for the new combats that will come.
Imperialism crushed these focuses of the revolution and for this it had the decisive support of the world reformist left, which was at the feet of Al Assad and Putin, or at the feet of the imperialists that they consider "democratic" calling them to arm the Syrian masses.
Comrades,
Like all these years, we are with you. As international worker currents we must resolve what common internationalist struggle we have to propose to the workers of the whole world.
You have made yours the war cry of "The enemy is at home!" The task of every working class in the imperialist countries is to paralyze the war machine of their regime and government, which terrorizes and massacres the semi-colonial world. This is what the workers in USA and Europe did against the invasion of Iraq, or as the workers of Japan do fighting against the US pact, Abe and the emperor. We take your appeal in this point as ours.
From the last trenches of the Syrian revolution, from the refugee camps and from the persecuted immigrants from all over Africa and the Middle East who seek to open Europe's borders, we call on them to fight together. Against the Geneva conference of the USA, the Iranian ayatollahs, Al Assad, Russia, Turkey and the FSA; against the pact of Putin, Zionism and Trump to place Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel, while slaughtering in Gaza, we call you to convene an international conference to stop the massacre in Syria.
If this massacre and chastise of imperialism to the peoples of the Middle East is settled, then attacks to the conquests of the workers of Europe, the USA and Japan will come. Stop the massacre of imperialism and its guardian dogs in Maghreb and the Middle East!
We salute your assembly. We hope that this assembly issues a common appeal, opened to all the anti-imperialist workers and trade union organizations of the world, to set up an international struggle committee to centralize and coordinate the fights on the planet against labour flexibilization, against imperialist plundering, to stop the counterrevolutionary wars of the imperialist pirates and to support the revolutionary struggles of the workers all over the world.
For the working class to live, imperialism must die!
Let’s fight together!
